Not sure where you can help? There are many options for
every personality type. Each shift is broken into 2 - 4
hour shifts. If you are interested in working in more
than one area, please do. You can designate the time you
would like to work and the area you want to work at.
Please don't wait until last minute to decide to help.
The sooner you sign up the better, as nearly 700 volunteers
will be needed to be placed. Please note that all
volunteers will be encouraged to wear the white Hampton
RAGBRAI t-shirt on July 24.
**The Hampton RAGBRAI Beverage Garden committee and Miller Brewing Company
hosted a TIPS training for volunteers on Monday, June 28.
Miller shared important tips on serving, id'ing and determining
the age of 21 and advising on the best practices when
volunteering in a beverage garden. The training was
taped. If you were unable to attend the TIPS training,
please try to stop at Center 1 to check out the tape to view
it. It is important that all beverage garden volunteers
have a good understand of hw important their duties are.**
**RAGBRAI general volunteer training will be held on Saturday, July 14
from 9:00 to 10:00 pm at the old H-D Middle School
Auditorium. All volunteers should plan to attend this
meeting. It is very important to understand the
logistics of the Hampton RAGBRAI overnight stay. This
session is open to everyone - whether you are housing riders,
helping at a food booth, work at a restaurant, etc. If you have
questions, please contact Jennifer (456-5668).**
Hospitality - set up early Tuesday morning (200+),
everyone is invited to greet riders on 12th Avenue (by high
school)
Information Center - hand out maps, answer questions, give directions
(50 volunteers)
Vendors - registration check in and out (30 volunteers)
Beverage Garden - ticket sales, ID, serve, security
(100) (must be 21 to work in this area)
Campground - guidance to riders and support vehicles
(80)
Shuttle Service - serve as a tour guide, guidance at
shuttle hub and stops (34)
Communications - keep communication lines open and
available (5)
Housing - give directions to local residents houses
(30) FULL - schedule is done
Sanitation/Showers - trash clean up and sanitation
maintenance (60)

This is a great opportunity to get involved with RAGBRAI while
it is in Hampton. The Volunteer Committee is responsible
for recruiting nearly 700 volunteers. Please, take this
time to get involved. It will be a very memorable
experience.
